Candlestick point , San Francisco - Despite playing a sloppy game again, the San Francisco 49ers were victorious over another doormat team, the Miami Dolphins. Under sunny skies the fans were hard pressed to find something to cheer about in the first half of the game. In his fourth game as a starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick stunk up the joint ! This really doesn't matter because the Niner propaganda machine and the cooperating media is going along with the 49er organization spin that they made the right decision at the right time.

With all the amassed talent on the Niner roster, the team could only muster six points during the first half. The defense did its job as usual but on the offense Kaepernick once again showed that he is not ready for prime time. He didn't run when he should have and was unable to pull off the audible process. The scoring consisted of two David Aker's field goals , from 30 and 37 yards respectively. Towards the end of the second quarter fans started booing the Niner offense. This is not being reported by anyone other than Scary Barry. Score at the half was 6-3 in favor of San Francisco.

At the start of the second half the 49er offense on its first series of the third quarter was unable to move the ball. Fortunately on the punt Miami's Marcus Thigpen fumbled and C.J. Spillman, a special teams stalwart, recovered it at the 9 yard line. Two plays later Frank Gore ran it in from 1 yard out for touch down putting San Francisco ahead 13-6. Up until this point the Dolphins most dangerous threat had been there kicker Carpenter who had kicked two field goals. Then the Kapernick managed to direct the Niners on 13 play 83 yard drive that culminated at the start of the fourth quarter with Anthony Dixon scoring on a one yard run for a touchdown with 14:27 on the game clock . The score was 20-6 at this time.

Rookie Dolphin QB Ryan then directed a 13 play 75 yard drive and a touchdown as a result of his pass to               Anthony Fasano. This tightened the score to 20-13. From this point on the Niner defense put a lid on the Miami offense. Kapernick due to his inability to call plays in the huddle in a timely fashion caused the team to use all three time outs. Niner fans were swearing in the stands. Every time before a crucial offensive play Kapernick had a problem. Finally the 49er defense forced Miami to give up the ball on downs with four minutes and change left on the game clock. This was really what won the game not the 50 yard touchdown run by Kaepernick in the waning moments of the game ! Most of the fans were already leaving the stadium when this touchdown iced the game and capped the scoring at 27-13 for a San Francisco victory.

If Alex Smith is seen as merely a game manager then Colin Kaepernick must be an offensive side note. Its not really his fault. He has very little game experience. With him under center the team is running a basic ABC offense. The only thing really holding the offense together is the solid running by Frank Gore and the steady receiving of                      Michael Crabtree. The offensive line gave up four sacks to the unheralded Miami defensive unit. It didn't help that Kaepernick seemed hypnotized in the pocket !

The 49er defense should get the game ball. Patrick Willis and Donte Whitner were laying on big hits while Aldon Smith's two sacks ,giving him 19.5, broke Fred Dean's San Francisco 49er record. Trouble looms on the horizon as the Niners travel to play the New England Patriots at home. The Niner offense will need to score much more in order to keep the defense from spending the entire game on the field. Colin Kaepernick had no turnovers in this game but couldn't handle the play calling in  pressure situations. That won't cut it against the New England Patriots ! The most exciting part of the game was seeing the San Francisco Giant's Sergio Romo strutting around the sidelines !

Note: This article is dedicated to TE Vernon Davis who was ecstatic when Colin Kaepernick replaced Alex Smith as a starter. How many balls are getting thrown your way now ? The Scary one hasn't seen you on many highlight reels lately ! Peace and love fans.
