(SAN FRANCISCO) - The Boston Bruins won the NHL Stanley cup by beating the Vancouver Canucks this last Wednesday and the aftermath was ugly. The boozed up loser fans tore the downtown up, breaking store front windows , overturning parked cars and injuring some of the police department. Apparently the rioting folks hadn't smoked any of the much renowned BC budd ! For you squares out there I'm talking about marijuana .
Back in the sixties when the Scary one was in the military, we yanks looked at Canada as the land of the draft dodgers and moose’s. I guess ,even though they are pacifist they can throw one mean post game party riot ! Vancouver is a beautiful city and reminds me of the City by the Bay. Hockey is a violent and hugely entertaining sport for some warmongering fans from the United States. What was missing on game day was Sarah Palin ! Certainly if you can shoot moose from helicopters then preventing a hockey riot would be easy ! She could've handled those pot smoking hockey bums for sure !
Actually , not everyone in Canada wears jeans and lumberjack shirts , smokes pot and counts trees. Just watch the Current television show " The Beat " , which shows the crime invested underbelly of cities like Vancouver. They got problems up North just like we do ! The Scary one would have been happy if the Vancouver Canucks had won ! The few times that the Boston Red Sox played the Giants in San Francisco , their thug fans elevated the hassle level !
It’s really too bad that the riot happened and the world saw the wrong side of Vancouver on CNN. Unfortunately, at any large event that sells alcohol sooner or later some folks will get their thug vibe going and losing a hockey game is as good an excuse as anything else ! If the fans in Vancouver had been wearing flowers in their hair and smoking weed sans the riot, the media wouldn't have touted the peace loving scene. Riots make good television! Just give me the on rink hockey fights any day !
