The Scary one usually doesn't pay much attention to the attire of the jockstars in professional football or any other sports. Unfortunately a San Francisco Bay area sports writer did a piece that was largely about the individualistic fashion style and hip hop dress of San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick . The article was an exercise in gratuitous butt kissing !
Until now I have conscientiously avoided looking at what Kaepernick was wearing at any one time ! A picture of Kaepernick was provided to go along with the article What Kaepernick was wearing in the picture I can only describe as hip hop clown couture. Contrary to what the unnamed sports writer wrote , Kaepernick isn't setting any new fashion trends.
Let me break it down for you folks. Hip hop style is a combination of Bowery Boys meets jail house ! The butt dragging baggy pants a tribute to those who can't wear a belt due to incarceration and the Bowery Boys ( you check it out ) accounts for the rest of the wardrobe ensemble ! This type of dress doesn't work well with post teen men. Of course if you are a hip hop entertainer its the bomb !
Kaepaernick is an entertainer on the football field. NFL jockstars are no different than rockstars with their groupies ( I call them gropies ! ) , flashy cars , spending money like drunken sailors. Kap is a likable guy but I'm sorry , there are homeless people out there who have better fashion sense. Lose the earphones ! Only conformists who want to hold on to their tunnel vision and blot out reality wears them !
Check out the tats ! ( " tattoos " to you old folks out there ) Twenty years ago , only ex convicts , soldiers , sailors and those in foreign countries with applicable traditions , for example Samoan tribes , wore tattoos. Kaepernick expresses his beliefs and emotions via the tattoos he sports. He sure doesn't use words ! The new look young generation is addicted to the wearing of tattoos and Kaepernick is just one of the crowd. Its part of his wardrobe. Its not dreadlocks , just dreadful !

I also learned from this same article about the relaxed dress code of the 49ers under Jim Harbaugh. Praise the lord ! They aren't required to wear suits while traveling on the road ! Most beefy jockstars look ridiculous in suits anyway ! Its too late now to think that by the mere action of wearing a suit you can transform spoiled jockstars into instant gentlemen ! Most of the jock's off work attire resembles a color riot.
The good news is that Colin Kaepernick can only be judged by what he does on the football field as an entertainer. Its doesn't matter that his choice in threads resembles a jigsaw puzzle gone wild ! Unlike a certified rockstar hes not expected to be hip ! He doesn't need a sports writer trying to add " fashion icon " to his resume. All the ballers out there don't need to worry about fashion. Just like at a circus , the audience enjoys watching the colorful costumes of the clowns and lion tamers. Its show business !
PS If your Momma wears combat boots you will probably do the same ! whatever !
