( SAN FRANCISCO )- Last thursday testimony was heard in Federal court in the Barry Bond's perjury trial. It appears to the Scary one that the government's case rests on Barry's testicle and hat size. The evidence is thin to say the least. Not since President Bill Clinton's " angle of his dangle " evidence in his impeachment trial ,has such tabloid fodder been held forth as some type of evidence.
The cast of characters involved is composed of liars and losers. For some like Kimberly Bell Bond's ex mistress and Steve Hoskins his ex business manager, the motivation in testifying is money. They are losers just to be involved with Barry, the ultimate charm school drop out and cheap to boot ! Victor Conte, of Balco fame is a shameless self promoter who gets off on performing for anyone who has some bucks to lay down. He reminds me of a sleasy back alley abortionist with his little mustache and line of bullshit !
Jeff Novitski the intrepid IRS man and lead agent on the Bond's case was investigated by his own agency. He is motivated by his personal dislike for Barry Bonds, the ultimate jockstar icon who didnt want to talk to him at World's gym ! A frustated ex jock who couldn't cut it in the pros, Novitski should be bait for Bond's attorney's ( pin striped assasins ) on cross examination. If Novitski is in for a rough ride , you can imagine what Kimberly Bell can expect.
The prosecution has brought in everyone except the Giant's bat boys to testify against Bonds. If Barry is a liar then all the MLB owners, the Baseball comissioner and league officials should be on trial too ! None of them were interested in the truth while Big Mac , Sammy and Jose Conseco were hitting moon shot homers and causing the ticket turnstiles to hum ! Now they are silent while the Feds try to bag the big fish Barry Bonds ! Absent are the grandstanding politicians like Senator John McCain and others.
Its a full out weasel fest ! I think all the participants should be put in one big house for the new reality show " Living With Barry " to be broadcast on Ophra's OWN network . If its justce your looking for folks forget it ! This is B grade entertainment at best ! At 8 million dollars and
counting , the Bond's case is expensive entertainment at that !
Somewhere out there, away from the glare of lights and television cameras , is Greg Anderson , imprisoned for refusing to participate in the joke that the Bond's perjury trial is ! He represents the only truth in this whole mess. He was truthful when he said he wouldn't testify. He wasn't lying ! With everyone else , all the bets are off. Anderson's real crime is not kissing the ring of the federal prosecutor ! The trial resumes today folks so don't turn off your television sets !
