SANTA CLARA MAYOR SLAMS 49ER STADIUM SECURITY

Driving in my car on a chilly bay area night listening to the radio. What could possibly go wrong ? The Scary one was listening to the number one news radio station in San Francisco , just cruising along. Then the voice of the Santa Clara Mayor Jamie L. Matthews comes booming out of the speakers talking about the security arrangements that will be put in place at the new Levis stadium in 2014.

So far so good. Then Mr. Mayor talks about hiring off duty Police officers for Security , on duty Santa Clara Police and the numbers. Then Mr. Big Mouth gets in a cheap shot at the present day security situation at Candlestick park in a left handed way ! He says in so many words that what happens now at Candlestick park will not be tolerated at Levis Stadium in Santa Clara. Wait a minute !  Whats Mr. Big Mouth know about stadium security.

I know many of the San Francisco Police officers who provide security at Candlestick park and bone heads have not been tolerated at all in the last few years. The San Francisco 49er organization and the NFL responded in a affirmative manner to the problems experienced at Candlestick park . They cleaned up the mess !

According to the 2010 census Santa Clara has a population of 116,468 people. This small berg is just an after thought right now ! Just a place you pass when driving on highway 101 , on the way to any more interesting destination. If Mayor Matthews thinks Gestapo tactics and Tea party rhetoric are what is needed in Santa Clara he should just pack up and leave right now ! When the San Francisco 49ers come to Levi Stadium in 2014 it will represent a step up from the small town mentality to the big city realities ! Will Mayor Matthews and the city of Santa Clara be ready ?
