The
celebration for the last San Francisco 49er game played at the closing
Candlestick park in San Francisco was a shabby affair from start to finish. The
San Francisco 49er organization had the opportunity to produce an event worth
remembering but instead just put fourth a second tier effort. It was a
manifestation of the contempt that the owners have for the City of San
Francisco. Appropriately, former Mayor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Ed Lee weren't
present !

The
only really special about the Monday night game between the 49ers and the
Atlanta Falcons was the obvious increased numbers of SFPD officers and stadium
Security officers. Walking around the stadium parking tailgating areas I noted
that hundreds of party goers were putting down hard liquor ! Yet the Security
set up for the game was over the top. It was if the owners expected a riot to
occur ! All out of control lawbreakers in the eyes of Santa Clara Mayor Jamie
L. Matthews !

Ticket holders were given one cheap souvenir
pennant and that was all, to mark the historical event. Prior to the game start
Willie McCovey and Willie Mays were introduced to the crowd. The halftime show
consisted of the Gold Rush girls just doing their cheerleader act on the field.
It was bare bones until the game ended.

During
the game the fans were encouraged to participate in using cards placed on every
seat , which collectively spelled out Levis ! This was real gut busting
entertainment ! Looking around from my seat I realized just how little the 49er
organization had spent on the renovations. Just the minimum had been done, same
as the game celebrations.
After
the game clock had expired , famed television announcer Chris Berman hosted the
post game festivities. Former 49er greats Jerry Rice , Dwight Clark and Steve
Young briefly traveled down memory lane with the fans , discussing some of the
great football moments experienced in Candlestick park throughout the years !
Then former owner Eddie Debartolo handed the game ball to his nephew Jed York ,
the present owner of the San Francisco 49ers. I wasn't impressed.

It was the last hurrah for a stadium that had
become a majestic dump , a tired senior citizen beaten down by time and the
forces of nature. A place of great history , where the San Francisco Giants
played until 2000, site of the last Beatles concert in 1966 and two many great
memories to list in this article. All this just blown away with the wind .
The San Francisco 49ers have played in San
Francisco from 1946 to now , 2013 , their final season in San Francisco. Make
no mistake about it once the 2014 season begins the 49ers will no longer
represent the City ! They will be just an empty brand name. The folks in Santa
Clara , specifically the small minded , small town politicians and all the
shark business people are licking their lips in anticipation of a windfall.
Good luck !
As
for the liar politicians of San Francisco , that facilitated the team's move ,
Gavin Newsom and Ed Lee , soap can't wash off the bad karma they walk around
with everyday ! Thanks to them and the new rich residents of the City , blue
collar people have no place to live , let alone be entertained !

For anyone that
thought a billion dollar stadium would be built on a toxic dump located in the
hood I have two bridges I can sell to you ! So now I and the millions of others
who can't afford the Levi stadium prices will just have to watch the games on
television. No big deal ! When the blimp shows pictures of the Golden Gate and
Bay Bridges , the breath taking view of the San Francisco skyline and more ,
the Scary one will just laugh at the notion of " the San Francisco Bay
Area in Santa Clara " ! Maybe it is all just one long bad dream !
